Shaddharana Choornam is an effective product when used for rheumatic complaints and rheumatoid arthritis. Those suffering from diabetes, flatulence, ascitis and piles will find relief with this Ayurvedic product. It is also an effective treatment for skin diseases, gall stones and obesity. Shaddharana Choornam has numerous Ayurvedic properties – Roga karma (arshas, kusta, pandu, prameha, vatavydhi, medogatavata, urustamba, ajeerna, sthoulya and kaphavritavata), Dosha karma (kaphavatahara), Agni karma (pachana and deepana) and other karmas (medohara, vatanulomaka, rasaprasadaka and srotoavarodhahara). Half to one teaspoon of the choornam is to be taken accompanied by warm water or gomutra, twice daily, before or after food. If in tablet form, then 1 – 2 tablets are to be taken with water as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. If taken in higher dose, Shaddharana Choornam may induce gastric irritation and worsen gastritis in people who have sensitive stomachs and hence, the product is to be taken under the supervision of an Ayurvedic doctor. The shelf-life of Shaddharana Choornam is around 6 months, and it should be stored in airtight containers in a dry place.
